University Library Rules Book

Library Rules

  • Only registered users (students, research fellows, faculty, and staff) of the university are authorized to use the services of the Central Library.
  • Do not enter the library without valid ID card.
  • Strict silence, decorum and discipline must be maintained in the library. Use of cell-phones is also not allowed.
  • By the self-mode system in the library, the user can issue/return a desired book (document) by thumbprint.
  • Reference study materials (i.e., dictionaries, Encyclopedia, Handbook, Year Book, etc.) and printed journals (either current volume or previous volume) are non-issued materials and users can only use them in the library.
  • Before issuing the book, the user should make sure that the books are not damaged. If the user notices damage anywhere in the book, report it to the circulation desk before checking out the book; otherwise, he/she is fully responsible for issuing the damage book, and at the time of returning the book, the responsibility will be on the user.
  • Issued books will not be renewed except for faculty members in exceptional circumstances.
  • The Librarian may, at his or her discretion, recall any book issued prior to the due date.
  • Under no circumstances does the user have the right to transfer the books issued in his/her name to someone else's account.
  • The loss of books (documents) must be reported to the Librarian immediately in writing.
  • Users are not allowed to bring their personal books into the library, if a user does so it will be considered a violation of the Rules, and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against him/her.
  • Users can bring laptops, tablets, and stationery into the library for academic use. Personal items such as loose clothing, scarves, umbrellas, briefcases, bags, folders, water bottles, etc. are to be deposited at the property counter at the appropriate location, and this place is near the library entrance.
  • Through the web OPAC, users can search their desired books to know whether books are available on their subject or not. If no books are available, they can search the bookshelves by call number. If the user has difficulty locating the books on the bookshelves by call number, the user can enlist the help of the circulation staff to find the desired books.
  • No dues certificate will only be issued by the circulation desk once all borrowed books have been returned and library dues have been paid in full by the user.
  • Photographing and scanning the pages of books with electronic devices in the library is strictly prohibited.
  • Any user who violates library rules and regulations may lose the privilege of library membership and the librarian may take further disciplinary action against him/her.
